01/9/12 - Hired Freightliner loco 90044 needs to be turned: Owing to air conditioning issues from the previous day, this 90 had to be turned via Willesden Jcn High Level in order to keep it on hire to Virgin Trains.

04/9/12 - 90021 suffers traction motor failure: 90021 arrived at Preston heading nth with the 23:50 Euston to Glasgow Lowland sleeper (1s26). However, the 90 needed to be rescued by 57311 due to traction motor problems.

05/9/12 - 90045 fails at Northamton whilst working 4M88: In order to keep the route open and operational particularly as the Paralympic Games were going on at the time, the 90 was rescued by a class 66 from Daventry.

08/9/12 - 90028 works a Royal Mail empty stock train: 90028 which ran light engine from Mossend worked a Royal Mail ecs train from Sheildmuir RMT to Crewe dragging class 325s after they had failed - it operated as a 5p01.

10/9/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 26th August: The key highlights included 90021 & 90039 suffering failures whilst working Scotrail sleeper services and extra trains ran between London & Norwich.

11/9/12 - Greater Anglia suffer from operating incidents: During w/c 2nd September 2012 there were a number of incidents on the mainline route between London and Norwich which severely impacted on the daily operations.

13/9/12 - 90044 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 13th September 2012, 90044 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

13/9/12 - 90044 works a private charter train on WB64: On the 13th and 14th September 2012, 90044 worked a two day private charter train between Coventry and London Euston on the Virgin Trains MK3 set (commonly known as WB64).

18/9/12 - Class 90s on thunderbird duties at Greater Anglia: The key highlights included 90021 & 90039 suffering failures whilst working Scotrail sleeper services and extra trains ran between London & Norwich.
