13/10/12 - 90048 out with Virgin Trains all day on West Mid services: Owing to a shortage of Pendolino's, WB64 was out working services on the West Mids corridor with 90048 and included diversions via Aston, Perry Bar and Soho Jcn.

13/10/12 - 90041 in trouble whilst working 4M53 at Milton Keynes: In the early hours of Saturday 13th October 90041 had a technical issue causing the loco to fail. The 90 needed rescuing by a Virgin class 57 and 90043 sent from Crewe.

15/10/12 - Transport Minister announces temporary contract for Virgin: On Monday 15th October the Transport Minister made a press statement which noted that Virgin Trains would run the West Coast contract beyond December 2012.

15/10/12 - 90020 in trouble on sleeper ecs from Wembley to Euston: In the early evening of Monday 15th October, the sleeper ecs of 5s95 had just left Wembley when 90020 suffered a fault resulting in the loco being changed.

19/10/12 - 90047 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 19th October 2012, 90044 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

20/10/12 - 90004 involved in a hotbox incident in the Shenfield area: In the early hours of Saturday 20th October, the set of stock with 90004 was finally skated from Ingatestone Loop where it had been stabled for several days by GBRF.

20/10/12 - Class 90s in action on TUC charter trains on WCML: A mass demonstration in London resulted in a number of charter trains being run to the capital. As a result 90019, 90036 and 90047 were all in action on the day.

21/10/12 - Scotrail Sleeper Diversions during December: Information was released today about diversions via the East Coast Main Line in both directions on 23rd December 2012 as a result of a 6 day blockade at Bletchley by Network Rail.

22/10/12 - Key highlights for w/c 23rd September 2012: The key highlights from w/c 23/9/12 included 90018 and 90035 suffering issues whilst working Scotrail sleepers in addition to 90003 being used on thunderbird duties at GA.
