18/5/12 - 90043 & 90046 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 18th May 2012, 90046 was hired to Virgin Trains but encountered issues at Wembley so another class 90 was hired from Freightliner.

19/5/12 - 90039 works UKR charter from Kings Cross to Newcastle: On Saturday 19th May 2012, 90039 performed the UKR charter from Kings Cross to Durham (for Beamish) and Newcastle with 67026 DOR.

22/5/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 13th May 2012: The key highlights for this week included 90039 working a UKR to Newcastle; 90043 & 90046 being hired to Virgin Trains & 90006 being stopped at Crewe for overhaul.

25/5/12 - 90045 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 25th May 2012, 90045 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

27/5/12 - 90018 in trouble on Scotrail Sleeper Service: On the evening of Sunday 27th May 90018 ran into trouble on Camden Bank whilst in charge of 1s25, but the loco eventually managed to get going again.

27/5/12 - 90024 in trouble on Scotrail Sleeper Service: On the evening of Sunday 27th May 90024 ran into trouble at Queens Park whilst in charge of 1s26 and was declared a failure - another loco was sent from Wembley.

27/5/12 - 90028 works private charter between Wembley & Crewe: On the 27th May 2012, 90028 worked a private charter between Crewe-Wembley-Crewe for Crewe football supporters.

31/5/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 20th May 2012: The key highlights for this week included 90045 being hired to Virgin Trains and 90029/90021 could be found stored in the WNTR Pool at Crewe EMD.

31/5/12 - 90018 & 90028 work Steam Dreams Charter on West Coast: On the 31st May 2012, two different class 90s were used on specific legs of a Steam Dreams charter. The 90s in question were 90018 and 90028.
