12/7/12 - 90003 dragged south from Crewe to Norwich Crown Point: On the class 90s anniversary, the birthday engine was dragged back from Crewe EMD south to East Anglia by a DRS class 37 following a planned overhaul.

14/7/12 - 90035 works a sleeper train ecs from Edinburgh to Wembley: Following disruption the night before which resulted in  a sleeper being cancelled, 90035 took the set of stock south from Edinburgh to Wembley today.

17/7/12 - Another class 90 in action on Royal Mail traffic: In quick succession today we saw another class 90 in action on Royal Mail traffic as a result of the booked traction failing - 90035 dragged 325s from Willesden to Warrington on 1s96.

18/7/12 - 90021 declared a failure at Crewe while operating 1m11: In the early hours of 18th July, 90021 made a special stop at Crewe where she was declared a failure (wiper fault). The 90 was replaced by another DB loco (90024).

22/7/12 - 90048 works a Golf-ex relief from Preston to Euston: On Sunday 22nd July 2012 the Virgin MK3 set along with 90048 worked a relief from Preston to Euston owing to the Golf Open being played in Blackpool that weekend.

25/7/12 - 90021 undertakes an Olympics Game ecs movement: In order to get stock into position at Wembley ready for the Olympic Games, 90021 operated an ecs of old Virgin MK2s from Crewe to Wembley via the West Coast.

27/7/12 - 90043 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 27th July, 90043 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

27/7/12 - London 2012 Olympic Games extra services & releifs: From the 27th July 2012 the Olympic Games took place in London which resulted in service alterations, extra services, Virgin MK3 set out with 90043 and much more - read on.


31/7/12 - 90050 is moved from the Crewe EMD to Crewe LNWR: In a surprise move and following ownership transfer 90050 which had been in long-term store at Crewe EMD was dragged by a class 67 to LNWR with a barrier coach.
