02/7/12 - 90004 on a set of stock declared a failure at Ipswich: On the morning of the 2nd July 90004 was booked to work 1p00 from Ipswich to Norwich, but the train was declared a failure and cancelled. It was towed back to Norwich.

04/7/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 17th June 2012: The key highlights for this week included 90001 being on thunderbird duties at Colchester; 90003 continued to be stopped at Crewe and 90018 terminated at Carlisle.

06/7/12 - 90048 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 6th July 2012, 90048 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

08/7/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 24th June 2012: The key highlights for this week included major disruption to the sleepers due to flooding on the West Coast which included 90024 being dragged via the S&C

08/7/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 1st July 2012: The key highlights for this week included 90048 being hired to Virgin Trains in addition to 90003 being stopped at Crewe and 90036 at Crewe for GSMR Fitment.

10/7/12 - 90008 in trouble outside of Ipswich on 1p56: In the early part of this evening 90008 suffered a damaged brake at Halifax Jcn located just outside Ipswich station. The 90 was rescued by 66420 which dragged her into the station.

10/7/12 - 90039 suffers technical issues whilst working 1s26 to Scotland: Just before midnight 90039 failed in the Harrow area whilst at the helm of 1s26 from Euston to Glasgow Central. The 90 was rescued by another DB90.

11/7/12 - 90039 works a Royal Mail train from Shieldmuir: Despite failing the previous evening, 90039 was in action again the next day this time she worked a Royal Mail train from Sheildmuir to Warrington after the booked traction failed.

12/7/12 - The class 90s enter 24th Year of passenger operations: On this day 24 years ago the first class 90 worked a service train which came in the form of 90003 from Preston to Euston - here is a record of what happened 24yrs later.
