01/1/12 - Key highlights from New Years Eve Operations: The key highlights included 90008 moving at the stroke of midnight (near Chelmsford) and 90004 in the Ipswich having departed at 23:57. Also 90011 worked first train of 2012.

03/1/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 25th December 2011: The key highlights for this week included 90041 being on hire for Virgin Trains for use on WB64 and 90001 was stopped out of traffic at Crown Point with a fault.

06/1/12 - 90049 suffers pantograph damage in very high winds: Heading north to Coatbridge with 4S83 from Crewe the 90 encountered heavy winds in the Shap area and was subsequently dumped in Hardendale Loop pending a rescue.

06/1/12 - 90045 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 9th March 2012, 90045 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

08/1/12 - National Express East Anglia hire 90024 from DBS: On the 8th January 90024 was hired to NXEA from DBS as part of the ongoing contract. The FSR liveried 90 replaced 90026 which was officially off-hire as she needed an exam.

12/1/12 - 90015 rescues Freightliner loco 90048 after failure: On the morning of 12th January 90048 encountered issues in the Brentwood area whilst working a liner towards Ipswich. In order to clear the line 90015 went to rescue her.

14/1/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 1s Janaury 2012: The key highlights for this week included 90011 being the first of the year to work a timetable passenger train and 90045 was hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64.

14/1/12 - 90047 suffers technical issues in the Rugby area: In the early hours of the 14th January 2012, 90047 was declared a failure at Rugby whilst working 4L82 from Crewe - this resulted in the train being rescued by another 90.

14/1/12 - 90041 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 14th January 2012, 90041 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.
