16/2/12 - Sudden surge of activity for DB90s on freight during w/c 12th February: In a surprise move a number of class 90s from the DB fleet worked freight trains during this week vice-66/92. This featured 90018, 90021, 90028, 90035 etc.

17/2/12 - 90044 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 17th February 2012, 90044 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

19/2/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 12th February 2012: The key highlights for this week included several DB class 90s working additional freight trains vice-66/92; 90044 was hired to Virgin Trains & 90001 was out of traffic.

23/2/12 - 90001 re-enters traffic after being stopped for 3 months: On Monday 23rd February 2012 the long awaited return of 90001 came to fruition today after being stopped at Crown Point with an electrical fault for 3 months.

23/2/12 - 90043 re-enters traffic with Freightliner following a derailment: Following a minor derailment at Ipswich and then road transfer back to Crewe, 90043 re-entered traffic today with Freightliner by working 0L60 for 4L60.

24/2/12 - 90044 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 24th February 2012, 90045 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

25/2/12 - 90035 works first UKR charter of the year: On Saturday 25th February 2012, 90035 worked the first UKR charter of 2012 which featured a class 90. The loco worked between Euston-Preston-Euston in both directions.

27/2/12 - 90045 & 57316 work a football charter from Liverpool: On Sunday 26th February 2012, 90045 worked a footex charter from Liverpool, but owing to a derailment at Winsford, the train needed to be dragged via Manchester with 57316

27/2/12 - 90018 retains her buckeye following maintenance: In a surprise move despite 90019 and 90020 having their buckeye’s removed, this 90 keeps hers for the time being but for how much longer remains to be seen.
