Owing to the derailment of 90046 the southbound sleepers on 2nd/3rd February were disrupted which included the termination of 1m11 at Crewe with 90036 and 90021 terminating at Preston on 1m16. One set of ecs stock sent via Chilterns.

In the early hours of Friday 3rd February 90046 was running light engine from Crewe to Wembley on hire to Virgin for use on WB64. Unfortunately the loco derailed just south of Bletchley station resulting in major disruption on the WCML.

At the time of 90029 was reinstated to traffic, 90026 took its place. This means that 90026 will be in storage in the WNTR Pool until further notice. Prior to being stored the 90 was on hire to the then NXEA.

90026 replaces 90029 in the WNTR Pool at Crewe until further notice

At 02:00 on Sunday 5th February Abellio officially took over the franchise from National Express and will no operate under the name of “Greater Anglia”. The last known class 90s to work for the then NXEA included 90008.

Owing to the derailment of 90046 the northbound sleepers on 5th/6th February were disrupted which included the diversion of 1s26 via the Chilterns as far as Crewe with class 67s (90036 took over from Crewe).

On Thursday 2nd February 90029 was reinstated to traffic following a spell in storage at Crewe IEMD. The 90 concerned worked the Garston to Dagenham car train 6L48 as its first working out of store.
