13/4/12 - 90049 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 13th April 2012, 90049 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

14/4/12 - 90026 & 90049 work football charters to & from Liverpool Lime Street: Today 90026 and 90049 worked two private football charters between Liverpool and London in order to convey fans to the FA Cup Semi-Final at Wembley.

15/4/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 8th April 2012: The key highlights for this week included 90026 and 90049 working private footex charters from Liverpool in addition to triple failures for Freightliner on same day.

20/4/12 - 90044 hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64: In the early hours of the 20th April 2012, 90044 was hired to Virgin Trains from Freightliner and initially ran light engine from Crewe to Wembley depot to be attached to WB64.

20/4/12 - 90035 involved in an operating incident at Hartford: On the afternoon of the 20th April 2012 found herself being wrongly routed by Network Rail into a dead section of OHLE which resulted in the loco being rescued by a class 66.

23/4/12 - 90021 & 90028 work in a pair between Crewe & Coatbridge vice-92: A very rare event for class 90s these days happened on the above date when 90021 and 90028 performed in a working pair from Crewe to Coatbridge on 4S43.

23/4/12 - 90009 dragged from Crewe to Crown Point following overhaul: On the 10th May 2012, 90043 worked a private charter between Liverpool-Euston-Liverpool using the Virgin Trains MK3 set (WB64).

25/4/12 - Key highlights for week commencing 15h April 2012: The key highlights for this week included 90008 re-entering traffic with Greater Anglia following repairs and 90044 was hired to Virgin Trains for use on WB64.

30/4/12 - 90009 named “Diamond Jubilee” by Greater Anglia: After returning from Crewe to Crown Point 90009 was named “Diamond Jubilee” by Greater Anglia on the 30th April 2012.
